Call nominations for the editorship of the JNphi

Journal of NeuroPhilosophy (JNphi) has opened nominations for the editorship. At this time the Journal is looking for an editor who will handle primarily papers in applied free will, neuroethics, neuroaesthetics, neurotheology: spirituality, brain and religion, artificial intelligence, social robots and human-robot interaction with a special emphasis on neuroscience and philosophy.

Candidates should be available to start receiving manuscripts in mid 2024. Please note that the Committee encourages participation by members of underrepresented groups in the publication process and would particularly welcome such nominees. Candidates may be self-nominated or nominated by others. Anyone may nominate individuals, and all parties understand there will be no preferential treatment of any kind. 

To nominate a candidate, please prepare a supporting statement of one/two pages and provide a current CV. Submit all materials electronically to editor@jneurophilosophy.com

Deadline for accepting nominations is June 30, after which the Committee will begin its work.

The editor-in-chief designee engagement period begins June 30, 2024. An honorarium is provided.

Candidates must have an outstanding record of scholarship in the discipline of research and must be committed to ensuring and preserving the interdisciplinary nature of JNphi.

Candidate Qualifications:

  • Must have significant editorial experience, preferably as an editor of a peer-reviewed journal
  • A distinguished research record
  • Broad and comprehensive knowledge of basic and translational research
  • A record of leadership in the community
  • MD, MD/PhD, or equivalent degree
  • An interest in developing innovative new content
  • Experience coordinating international collaborations
  • Familiarity with international experts in the field to solicit relevant, high-quality articles

Special Issue Proposal

Journal of Neurophilosophy welcomes proposals from interested parties for Special Issues on topics of relevance to the aims and scope of the journal. The objective of Special Issues is to bring together recent and high-quality works in a research domain, to promote key advances in theory and applications and to provide overviews of the state-of-the-art in emerging domains. Description: A 150-400 words introduction about your Special Issue: An overview of the intended focuses and the specific aims of the Special Issue.
